Carcasses of some cowries

Tupinambás religious ceremony in engraving by Theodor de Bry. The image, and according to Jean de Lery, shows the moment when they are tormented by the spirit of Anhangá.

One of the first recordings in sheet music that is known in Brazil. Written by the Frenchman Jean de Lery, in 1557, on his trip to France Antarctica (Rio de Janeiro). It reports a Tupinambá ritual in greeting to the bird Canidé, a species of macaw.
